Busy JumpCross Competition at Brechin Castle

THE last JumpCross event of the season at Brechin Castle, Scotland included a qualifier for the JumpCross Young Riders Challenge.

With a good turnout the weather also proved glorious and the ground conditions were excellent.

Thanks to the high level of entries the results were split into juniors and seniors making it very competitive.

Said organiser Val Blewitt: “Everyone enjoyed themselves and the competition went smoothly thanks to the army of helpers! I thought at one point that we were going to run out of light but then the sun came out for the final hour.

Three riders qualified for the JumpCross Young Riders Challenge, Alicia Miller with her two horses, Paolo and Russka, Nicki Wilmshurst with Bailey, and Katie Blewitt with Solus of Marisland.

The competition proved a brilliant end to our season at Brechin Castle Equestrian and it was great to see so many competitors and many new faces as well.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our helpers, as we couldn’t hold our events without them and I greatly appreciate the time they have given this year and often in chilly, damp conditions too!

Many thanks to Terri Brookes for contacting the helpers for our events. As ever my special thanks go to Joan Botterill our secretary who keeps all the paperwork and results in order and keeps me right! Thanks also to the Blewitt family members who have helped so much this year, without too many complaints!

Hope to see everyone out and about over the winter and looking forward to starting our new season at Brechin Castle in March/April 2012.”

The JumpCross Young Riders Challenge, supported by Lincoln products, and with a prize purse of £1,000, takes place on June 26, 2012 as part of the Lincoln JumpCross Eventer’s Challenge, at Grange Farm, Wittering near Peterborough.
